Because we are not primarily a special needs center, families are encouraged to visit to make sure that BrightPath Active Learning is the right fit for them and to determine the necessity of an aid in the environment if applicable.

My child has allergies or specific dietary needs, can they attend BrightPath Active Learning?
Yes.

We use our own curriculum that is a balance of language arts, math, reading, science, culture, and art.

Do you provide snacks/meals?
We provide one light and healthy snack in the morning and afternoon.

Do you have medical staff onsite?
We have staff trained in CPR and Frist-Aid with the children at all times.

Are there benefits to half day Kindergarten?
The all day classes are not learning more topics, or advancing further on topics, but they will take longer, present it different ways, have time for recess, eat lunch at school, etc. BrightPath Active Learning is designed to be a complement to the half day Kindergarten program.   We know that all the standards are being covered in the first half of the day in their Kindergarten Classrooms.  We know that the learning in that part of the day is a pretty ‘packed’ schedule.  We build choice into our part of the day.  We allow for opportunities outside.  We learn a lot about nature, science and the world around us.  We do a lot of art, culture and character lessons.  All very important topics to help children build a strong foundation to be good life-long learners.

What should my child bring to BrighPath?

Each day:

  • a ready to eat lunch
  • a water bottle –they learn to refill them throughout the day
  • A backpack with whatever they need for school

To leave at BrightPath Active Learning:

  • A spare change of clothes in a gallon Ziploc to leave in their cubby
  • Seasonal outside clothes which to start will just be an old pair of tennis shoes, and then as it gets colder, you will become snow pants, boots, winter mittens, a hat, etc.
  • Optional: light jacket/hooded sweatshirt(keep in mind that your child my be dressed fine for going in to school and to the car, but if we are outside for an hour or more, which is very likely, will your child be a little cool – or might they like a hoodie or sweatshirt to put on.)

How will BrightPath Active Learning communicate with me about my child’s day?
We communicate largely through the childcare app HiMama.  Teachers are able to send pictures throughout the week and it is a direct line of communication to the classroom for parents. In addition, each week, we will send an email with a detailed newsletter attached that explains what we did that week, what’s coming up, etc.  Any administrative information about field trips, important dates, etc. will be in that weekly email.

What do you do at the Gentle Start Day?
This session has two main purposes. First, to orient your child to us, our center and their classmates.  Second, the teaching staff will spend a little time individually with each child to get a bit of an academic baseline before starting the year.  This is helpful in guiding lesson planning as well as tracking progress throughout the year.

Should Parents stay at the Gentle Start Day?
No, that is not necessary.  We do ask that parents stay to make sure all of their paperwork is complete, but after that, this is a chance for your child to get to know their new school on their own.  Having this shorter day where the Parents drop them off and pick them up will help ease them into their first day when they are transported via us either to school or from school.

Should I bring my child’s extra clothes, extra shoes/rain boots and sunscreen to Gentle Start?
Yes, that’s a great time to bring these items and even a hoodie or any other extra clothing items you child may want if it’s a bit cool in these early Fall mornings.

How do you accept Tuition Payments?
New this fall we will begin billing through our HiMama app! Information will be provided at the time of enrollment
